Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Luxor East and West Bank
Cross to the West Bank at opening for the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut, with a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, Karnak and Luxor Temple in the softer afternoon light. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 2: Dendera and Abydos
Drive north along the Nile valley road. The Temple of Hathor at Dendera: the hypostyle hall with Hathor-headed columns, the crypts, and the roof chapels where the zodiac relief is displayed. Continue north to Abydos, cult centre of Osiris, for the Temple of Seti I with its seven sanctuaries and the Abydos King List. Lunch en route, returning to Luxor in the late afternoon for your hotel, the airport or the train.
