Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: The Giza plateau
The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, the desert panoramic viewpoint where all three align, and the Sphinx approached through the granite Valley Temple. Optional entry inside the Great Pyramid on a separate ticket. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Saqqara, Dahshur and Memphis
The Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world's first monumental stone building, and the Pyramid Texts inside Teti's burial chamber. Continue to Dahshur for the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, both open to enter and far quieter than Giza. Memphis in the afternoon. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Museums and Old Cairo
The Grand Egyptian Museum at opening, including the Tutankhamun galleries. After lunch, the Coptic quarter inside the Roman fortress of Babylon with the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue, then the Citadel and Khan El Khalili. Transfer to the airport or your onward hotel.
