Luxor is the base for Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and the West Bank tombs. Two full days cover the classic east and west bank route without rushing.
Aswan and the far south
Aswan covers Philae Temple, the High Dam, Nubian villages and Abu Simbel. It is also the start or end point of most Nile cruises.
Cairo and the Red Sea
Cairo holds Giza, Saqqara, the Egyptian Museum and Islamic Cairo. Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam and Dahab add diving, snorkelling and desert days.
