Detailed Itinerary

Stop 1: Hotel pickup in Sharm El Sheikh (08:00)

Collection from your hotel in Naama Bay, Nabq, Sharks Bay or along the Ras Um Sid coast, with the pickup time set by your area.

Stop 2: Boarding at Sharm marina (08:30)

Board your boat, meet the crew and collect snorkelling equipment. The safety briefing covers the reserve rules, which matter here: Ras Mohamed is a national park and touching or standing on coral is prohibited.

Stop 3: Ras Mohamed National Park (09:30)

Egypt's first national park, at the point where the Gulf of Aqaba and the Gulf of Suez meet. The current brings nutrients up the wall, which is why the fish density here is higher than anywhere else close to Sharm.

Stop 4: Snorkelling at the coral gardens (10:15)

Guided snorkelling over the shallow reef shelf, with clownfish, angelfish, parrotfish and often turtles. Confident swimmers can follow the guide out to the drop-off.

Stop 5: Lunch on board (12:30)

An open buffet served on deck while the boat repositions towards Tiran Island.

Stop 6: Tiran Island reefs (13:30)

Four reefs sit in the strait between Sinai and Tiran, marked by the wrecks caught on them. The water is clearer here and the second snorkelling stop is usually the better one.

Stop 7: Return to the marina and transfer (16:00)

Sail back and transfer to your hotel in the late afternoon. Ras Mohamed park entry fees are normally paid separately at the gate.

FAQ

Do I need to be able to swim?

Life jackets are provided and the crew stays with the group in the water, so confident non-swimmers can usually take part in surface activities. If you cannot swim at all, tell us when booking and we will confirm whether this particular trip works for you or suggest a dry alternative such as the glass bottom boat or submarine.

Is equipment included, or should I bring my own?

Masks, snorkels, fins and life jackets are provided and sanitised between trips. Bring a towel, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen and a waterproof phone case. If you prefer your own mask for fit, you are welcome to bring it.

What if I get seasick?

The Red Sea is usually calm in the morning and choppier after midday, so most trips do the main stops early. Take your medication about an hour before boarding, sit on the lower deck near the centre of the boat and keep your eyes on the horizon. Tell the crew and they will find you the steadiest spot.

Are hotel transfers included?

Yes. You are collected from your hotel in Hurghada, Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh or El Gouna and returned there afterwards. Tell us your hotel name when booking so we can confirm the pickup time, which varies by area.

I am travelling with children. Do they pay the full price?

Children under 6 travel free of charge on this tour. Ages 6 to 11.99 pay 50 per cent of the tour price, and from 12 years a child pays the full adult rate. Tell us your children's ages when you enquire and the quote reflects them.

Is the price per person or for the whole group?

On this Sharm El Sheikh trip the published rate is $96 for one traveller, $70 each for two, and $70 each from three people upward. All prices on this page are in US dollars per person, and the rate drops as the group grows because the vehicle, guide and driver are shared across more travellers. Holiday departures over Christmas, New Year and Easter are quoted separately as they carry a supplement.

How do I book this tour?

Is this a private tour?
