Hotel Pickup & The Ramesseum (Stop 1)
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and drive you to the West Bank. Start at the Ramesseum , the mortuary temple of Ramses II (Ramses the Great). Though partially in ruins, the temple is profoundly romantic and atmospheric. See the fallen, colossal granite statue of Ramses that inspired Percy Bysshe Shelley’s famous poem, "Ozymandias."
Medinet Habu (Temple of Ramses III) (Stop 2)
A short drive takes you to Medinet Habu . This is second only to Karnak in size and is arguably the best-preserved temple in the Luxor area. The temple is famous for its deeply carved, vividly painted reliefs depicting the military victories of Ramses III, particularly his defeat of the mysterious Sea Peoples. The massive pylon entrance and the preserved colors on the ceilings are truly breathtaking.
