Winter offers the coolest sightseeing weather and is a strong choice for travelers who are sensitive to heat. It is also a busy period: November through February is high season, so popular vessels and cabin categories may sell earlier.
Shoulder months: March, April, October and November
March and November can balance moderate temperatures with fewer crowds. October and April are also commonly recommended shoulder periods, although daytime heat can be stronger than in midwinter. These months are often the best compromise for sightseeing comfort and availability.
Hot season: May to September
May through September is the low season because of extreme heat; June through August can exceed 40°C. Fewer visitors can be attractive, but early sightseeing, shade, hydration and an air-conditioned cabin become essential. Travelers who struggle with heat should choose another period.

The Abu Simbel Sun Festival takes place in February and October and can add a memorable event to a wider itinerary. Christmas, New Year and Easter bring stronger demand and can raise cruise prices, so confirm availability and supplements before arranging flights.

Choose November to March for the coolest conditions, October or April for a shoulder-season compromise, and avoid June to August unless you are comfortable sightseeing in very high temperatures.
