Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Embarkation in Luxor

Arrival and embarkation in Luxor aboard MS Medea. Settle into your cabin and meet the crew before an afternoon visit to Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the East Bank.

Day 2: Luxor West Bank

Morning visit to the West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. The ship then sails south through the Esna Lock towards Edfu.

Day 3: Edfu and Kom Ombo

Morning stop in Edfu to visit the well-preserved Temple of Horus, traditionally reached from the riverbank by horse-drawn carriage. Continue to Kom Ombo for the unusual double temple of the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris, then sail on to Aswan.

Day 4: Aswan sightseeing

Full day of sightseeing in Aswan: the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple, reached by motorboat. Time permitting, enjoy an optional felucca sail around Aswan's islands.

Day 5: Free day in Aswan

Day at leisure in Aswan aboard the ship, with time by the pool and on the sun deck. An excursion to the Abu Simbel temples of Ramesses II and Nefertari can be arranged as an optional extra, by road or by short flight.

Day 6: Sailing north
